Office of the Chief Postmaster General, Assam Circle, Guwahati has invited application for 16 Vacancies for direct recruitment to the cadre of Postal/Sorting Assistant/Postman/MTS under Sports Quota in Assam.

Applications in the prescribed format are invited from the eligible meritorious Sports Persons of Indian Citizens for direct recruitment to the posts of Postal Assistants, Sorting Assistants, Postmen and MTS in Assam Postal Circle under Sports Quota in the following sports disciplines:-

In Football, Cricket and Athletic, following categories of players will be selected :-
(a) Football : Goal Keeper – 2, Striker – 2, Stopper -1, Half (Wing) – 2, Left/Right out -1 (Total – 8 for man only)
(b) Cricket : All Rounder -1, Left Arm Spinner -1 (Total 2 for man only)
(c) Athletic : Sprinter -1 for woman only
Age Limit: Maximum 25 years as on 01 April 2016. Maximum age limit may be relaxed by 5 years (10 years for SC/ST and 8 years for OBC).
Qualifications: 12th pass from a recognized Board of School Education or Board of Secondary Education (excluding vocational stream) for the post of Postal/Sorting Assistant. (ii) Matriculation or equivalent for the post of Postman / Mail Guard (iii) Matriculation or ITI from recognized Board for the post of MTS (Multi Tasking Staff)
Sports Qualification:
(i) Persons who have represented a State or the Country in the National or International competition in any of the Games/Sports listed at serial (1) above.
(ii) Persons who have represented their Universities in the Inter University Tournaments conducted by the Inter University Sports Board in any of the above Games/Sports listed at serial (1) above.
(iii) Persons who have represented their State School’s Team in the National Sports/Games conducted by all India School Games Federation in any of the above Games/Sports at serial (1) above.
How To Apply: Application forms and eligibility certificate forms (Form-I to Form-5) in respect of Games/ Sports listed at serial (1) above may be downloaded from India Post website i.e.www.indiapost.qov.in from 20.10.2016 to 20.11.2016 at 23:59 hrs. Application accompanied by all the documents and certificates (not in original) should be sent to the office of theChief Postmaster General (Staff Section). Assam Circle. 4th Floor. Meqhdoot Bhawan. Guwahati-781001 on or before 20.11.2016. Applications which are not completed in all respects as required above will be liable to be rejected without assigning any reason. The cover should be superscribed in BLOCK LETTERS as “APPLICATION FOR MERITORIOUS SPORTS PERSONS RECRUITMENT FOR THE POST OF ……………………”. Applications received after 20.11.2016 will not be entertained at any cost.After selection, the candidates will be posted in respective Postal/RMS Divisions as per the availability of the vacancies.
